On Day 8 is all about quieting the “I can’t” voices and clearing out the junk that has piled up in front of your style joy. I walk you through that tiny door in your brain that leads to freedom, self expression, and play in your closet, and we look at how trends are basically obsolete (and only useful for inspiration, not for telling you if you are “in” or “out”). You start spotting where your “I can’t wear this” stories actually came from, practice squashing them, and reconnect the line from your brain to your heart to your body so you can wear what truly speaks to you, not what outside voices have decided for you.

 

Outfit Prepping and Why Style is Learnable

On day 9 we build a simple system together so we can stop scrambling in the mornings and start actually wearing the clothes we already own, outfit prepping. Instead of trying to be creative when we are half awake and rushing out the door, we set aside intentional play time to put together outfits all at once.

We also rewrite a powerful belief, we are not divided into people who were born with style and people who were not. Style is a skill we can learn over time, just like any other craft, and when we embrace that, our closet becomes a place of possibility instead of pressure.

 

10x Your Closet Without Spending a Dime

Day 10 I’m sending you to YouTube. I almost recorded this as a voice memo, then I remembered I already filmed a whole video on it… so you get to see my face instead of just hearing my voice today! Haha

This is my #1 way I was able to not buy clothes for 2 years straight. This video is a starting point, and I will go more into detail about this later in the rest of our 30 days together.

TODAY is all about inspiration. In this video we are learning how to get 10 times more out of our closets without spending a dime. We continue to learn about our wardrobes being like pantries full of ingredients so we can make magic out of what we already own and get dressed with less stress. 

Together we focus on Inspiration photos and how to break those photos down into easy outfit “recipes,” and recreate the essence of those looks using the pieces we already have.

Getting Dressed When Everything Else Feels Heavy

A heart-to-heart.
We are choosing to take care of ourselves even when the world or our personal life feels really heavy. Instead of going down the negative spiral we start with what we can control to shine a little brighter.

We also talk about that being stylish is about two things, effort and personality. 

Today’s reminder is simple, even on hard days we can support ourselves by getting dressed with a little intention and remembering that we are absolutely stylish when we show up as ourselves.

 

How to Turn Inspiration Photos into Real Outfits

We might have an album full of inspiration photos, whether it is on Pinterest, Instagram, or TikTok. But we might open them and only see what we want to buy. Or we stare at them with no idea what to do or how to translate any of it into our own closets.

So today, we are taking a little more time to talk about the exact things we are looking for in those photos, so we can successfully create from what we already have. This helps train our brains to stop seeing the “buy” button every time we see a new outfit, and instead turn back toward our closets and shop what we already own.

 

Start With How You Want To Feel

On Day 14 we learn how to use feeling words to not feel completely stuck when we are frozen in front of our clothes. It helps us further shift fashion from just a look to a feeling, creating a mind, heart, body connection with what we wear. 

Day 14 also prepares us for the final two weeks of the challenge, when we move into implementation so we have real, on the ground tools to use every time we look at our closets and do not know where to start.

 

Organize Your Closet In The Way Your Brain Works

We are reminding ourselves that this is not about perfection or overnight change, it is about slowly reprogramming how we relate to our clothes, our closets, and ourselves, so we can feel more grounded, joyful, and confident over the long term.

 

How To Finally Learn What You Actually Wear In Your Closet

On day 16 we learn how to get an honest look at what we actually wear in our closets. We walk through the Ribbon And Record Method and a simple hanger flip approach to separate worn items from unworn ones over time, so we can see what deserves space and what might be ready for a new home.

On day 17 of our 30 Day No-Buy Challenge, we are taking the right steps to clear our way for success. We are starting on our 14 days of implementation and the first thing to do (if you haven't already) is to get rid of the yuck. Here is a refresher if you need it.

Next thing to check-off for the day is to put time ON YOUR CALENDAR (actually schedule it) that you are going to outfit prep and "play" in your closet. Gift yourself the gift of time for these implementations.

Simply Changing One Thing

For the next two days of our 30 Day No-Buy Challenge, we are implementing the Change One Thing Formula. It’s simply wearing a favorite outfit and changing one thing (the top, the bottom, the shoes, the accessories) to break the habit of wearing the same combinations over and over, AND to show how easy it is to create a new outfit by changing just one thing.

To make it extra impactful, don’t just switch out like for like. For instance, don’t just switch out your brown sandals for another pair of sandals, instead maybe switch them out for boots, or flats, or dare I say it… heels!! haha

Finding New Joy: Power Thoughts, Power Outfits

On day 20 of the 30 Day No Buy Challenge, we walk ourselves through a power moment about how our words shape our style, then we break down the next style challenges so we feel less stuck in our closets and more powerful in our bodies.

We shift from “we don’t have style” into goal oriented statements, we play with splitting up our favorite outfits to find new combinations, and we use Pinterest to gently rewrite our “we can’t wear that on our body” stories.

Together we’re learning to celebrate our bodies as they are, expand the possibilities in our closets, and remember that this work is not just for 30 days, it is for the rest of the year and our lives.
